Rivers has always been the most intriguing character to me out of all the Crow brothers since the first book of this series. He is broody, soulful, and even-tempered. He is not flashy like Tulsa, or a natural-born leader like Jet, however his appeal quietly shines.

The mystery of his lost love is front and centre in this book, as we get to meet Stella, the one who captured his heart years ago. The added parts about what really happened to Stella during their years apart also keeps the story suspenseful.

This whole series has been a journey for the Crow brothers, and it’s heartening to see how they always keep their brotherhood tight and supportive. Rivers may be the middle child, but he is never lacking in attention and utmost love from both of his brothers. Other than the romance in each book, it is the family togetherness that keeps me coming back for more.

I absolutely adore the Crow Brothers and have been waiting since we met Rivers for his story - because I knew that there was so much more to the man than we knew and I couldn't wait to dive into his past and discover his future. The fact that this story was second chance romance made it even better for me. But what I didn't expect was that SL Scott would take us down a dark, twisty path while we were in this book -- but Oh my goodness was it ever worth it.

That's right, this story is a bit more raw, emotional, and dark and twisty that the previous Crow Bros but let me tell you -- it totally fit these two characters. Rivers is deep, he's got past hurts and he's still battling himself over the one he let get away - even though he doesn't fully understand what happened - he knows he needs closure on the past - either in the form of a second chance (his preference) or getting it all out there and finding he has to move on.

Stella is an amazing character - she's got such a strength that it's easy to see how she's made it through her life and keeps pushing. But Stella has secrets and she believes it wouldn't do to let those out of the bag to anyone. That is until she finds herself twisted back up in Rivers Crow and she can't help but show him the woman she's become in his absence.

With loads of angst, heavy emotions, pain that could consume them if they let it, Rivers and Stella discover that they are more than better off together and their love has survived their separation fully intact - they just have to work on it. This book will pull you in, grab your heart and hold it captive as you dig deep and discover the depths of love - not just the love Rivers and Stella share - but their love for their family. Jet, Tulsa, Ridge and the rest of the band boys ;) all have their parts in this story but more importantly the focus is on Rivers and Stella and righting wrongs and finding a way to move past the pain, the hurt, and look forward together.
We meet Rivers in Spark. A quiet man with a broken heart. A man living with guilt and sorrow. We don’t know the specifics, but we guess…
I wanted more of Rivers from the first time he spoke. When he would wander off on his own to be one in his own mind, I wanted inside.
Finally, he is written.
What I love about S L Scott is she gets right to the point. No games, no gimmicks. The Crow Brothers know what they love and want what they love.
Rivers we find is broken over the death of his beloved mother at the age of seventeen. He blames and guilts himself for it. The loss of the love of his life shortly after shoulders more guilt and sadness. After his brothers marry, he can’t fight his feelings anymore and heads back to Austin.
Just like Jet and Tulsa before him, Rivers wastes no time getting what he is after Stella Lilith Fellowes.
No games. No gimmicks. “I want. I need. You are the star of the night. Star of my life”
Stella comes with a little mystery and intrigue, surely you can’t be surprised, all women do, right?
I won’t give spoilers. It’s not fun to.
Their relationship falls right back in to ‘destiny’
I wished and prayed for Rivers to find his peace and he finds it in the last message from beyond. I cried the minute I knew it was coming. Our writer gave that to him. YEAH, she did! I cannot tell you how much that made my heart soar for Rivers. Rivers the soulful, loving heart healed.
From Everest to Hard to Resist to The Crow Brothers series, at the heart of it all is the love and loyalty between these band mates and their spouses/families. Can’t get any better.
RIVERS is a standalone novel. Rivers just became my favorite Crow brother. There are two other Crow brothers that I recommend you meet. Jet Crow in SPARK, and Tulsa Crow in TULSA. All three Crow brothers now have there own book and a love story of their own. Rivers was the last one to find the girl that he lost and left behind on his way to fame. After five years of missing and regretting the break-up with his high school sweetheart, he heads back to Texas.

The Crow Brother's Band have reached fame and fortune. His brothers have even found love and happiness. Rivers wants love and happiness, too. Five years have dragged by since he walked away, leaving his heart broken at her feet. He decided he couldn't go another day pretending she wasn't his every-thing. So he went home. For her---Stella Lilith Fellowes.

Rivers wants a second-chance. There break-up was sudden and final, but left something inside of them both unsettled. They ended too fast, drastically and without any closure. How could he find someone new to love, when he was incapable of loving anyone but her. There first reunion was far from Stella being forgiving. But she finds herself running back to Rivers, because her heart has a mind of it's own. Once upon a time the two were inseparable from the moment they met. They both thought they had found their soul mates, each other's one and only. Were they meant to be a one-time love affair? Or much more then that. Love eternal? Lots of twist and turns before there could ever be a happy ending.
